Plans for Golisano Institute for Business & Entrepreneurship’s new campus center in Buffalo, New York, are well underway.
Jim Dentinger, executive vice president & Buffalo regional director, recently gave local Buffalo media outlets a look at how the space is taking shape while talking through the vision behind the initiative.

Golisano Institute for Business and Entrepreneurship is transforming the former Buffalo News headquarters on Washington Street into a hands-on learning environment designed to mirror the real world of business.
Students enrolled at the institute won’t just sit in classrooms, they’ll be expected to operate like professionals from day one. “We want to mimic from their first day… what it’s like in the business world,” said Executive Vice President Jim Dentinger, “You show up on time, you’re dressed professionally, you work year-round, and you collaborate with team members.”

In 1971, Tom Golisano had $3,000 and an idea — to start his company Paychex. Decades later, the billionaire from Rochester is inspiring others to find their passion and start in the business industry.
“Tom was all about training, and he is all about treating his people very fairly but expecting a lot out of his team members in terms of their ability to do tasks or to work within Paychex,” said Jim Dentinger, executive vice president and director of the Buffalo Golisano Institute.
