Andy Morris

Associate Vice President for Student Experience

When he thinks about the values that matter at Golisano Institute, Andy says the one that resonates with him most is “empowering.” That’s because he’s always contemplated the question, “How much control do we have in the way our lives unfold?” It’s a question at the core of his own educational pursuits and his two decades of experience working with students. Most recently, Andy served as Associate Vice President for Retention & Student Services at Nazareth University, where he also worked in Student Support Services. Prior to Nazareth, he was an admissions counselor at Monroe Community College. He brings with him a drive to help students ask great questions of themselves—and seek answers that will help them feel empowered to make choices that lead to fulfillment. Andy lives in Fairport, N.Y.

Q&As

What was your first ever job?

As a kid, I started mowing lawns and delivering newspapers around the same time. From there, I washed dishes, parked cars, worked in factories, and did a host of other odd jobs to earn money to put myself through college until I got my first “real” job.

What do you like to do outside of work?

I love adventure and anything outdoors. I’ve done backpacking, zip-lining, deep sea fishing, off-roading, skiing, marathoning, white water rafting, trail racing and even tried sky diving (once!)
