Director of Campus Safety and Security

With an extensive 30-year tenure in the New York State Police, Colonel Allen served as Deputy Superintendent-Field Command, overseeing operations of the Uniform Force, the Bureau of Criminal Investigation, the New York State Intelligence Center, the Office of Counter Terrorism, and associated special details. As the agency’s third in command, he was crucial in ensuring the state’s safety and security, shaping and guiding law enforcement initiatives. Holding a bachelor’s degree in public justice from the State University of New York in Oswego, Colonel Allen’s dedication to public safety and strategic leadership significantly contributes to our campus community’s well-being. Of the values at Golisano Institute, Colonel Allen most strongly connects with “Integrity”. Recognizing the importance of integrity in business and entrepreneurship, he believes it sets individuals apart. Outside of work, Colonel Allen enjoys staying active in the gym, golfing, and spending quality time with his family.

What is the best career advice you’ve ever received? 

There are no shortcuts to success.  Hard work and perseverance will pay off in the end.

What are you most excited about working at Golisano Institute? 

Getting into this groundbreaking concept at the infant stages will give me a front-row seat to witness the changes this type of education can make for our communities.
