Q&As

What are you most excited about (or looking forward to) working at Golisano Institute?

“Would you please tell me which way I ought to go from here?” asked Alice.

“That depends a great deal on where you want to get to.” Said the Cat.

With all the possible choices people have, I’m most looking forward to helping students find a place that puts them on the path to where they want to go. Connecting students with a learning environment and education that’s right for them.

Why did you decide to join Golisano Institute?

From the first conversation with Tom, his commitment to long-term success for Rochester was obvious. His vision and philosophy behind opening a school which fills a gap in current higher education was spot-on. This need has existed for a long time, but now, post-covid, ideas about education have shifted enough to make this idea real. It’s a joy to be contributing toward bringing an alternative option for education that will make a permanent change in so many people’s lives.

What is the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Continuously hire your replacement. Meaning, find those stars who will make the business better. Don’t be afraid to bring smarter, more talented people onto your team. They will add value. Working alongside outstanding people will raise the bar for the process, the work, the outcomes.
