Maren Welch

Director of Admissions & Financial Assistance

Maren loves helping people feel welcome, supported, and informed through the admissions process. She comes to Golisano Institute after more than a decade in her field, most recently as associate director of admissions at Hobart and William Smith Colleges. She says she’s inspired by the opportunity Golisano Institute is bringing to prospective students as an accessible post-secondary education option. “We really are paving the way for business-focused students to be successful, while experiencing unique opportunities, networks, and curriculum,” she says. Maren is especially excited about helping prospective students who may not have given themselves a chance to see what’s possible. “I want to help people realize they can be successful and fulfill their goals without the financial barriers they sometimes encounter in higher education.” Outside of work, Maren enjoys spending time with her family and going on hikes. She lives in Canandaigua, N.Y.

What was your first ever job?
My first job ever was working at a small snack and ice cream stand attached to a swimming area in my home town. It was fast paced, and taught me a lot about how a business is run!
